That’s why you see so many Egyptian “immortals” carrying them around. So what if they decorated their walls with common-place objects like we do (keys, crosses, spoons, etc.) made of different materials? That’s what this series of ankhs is all about! ;)

Description: Anubis is the Greek name of a god associated with mummification and the afterlife in ancient Egyptian religion, usually depicted as a dog or a man with a canine (jackal) head. Depicted as a protector of graves as early as the First Dynasty (c. 3100 – c. 2890 BC), Anubis was also an embalmer. By the Middle Kingdom (c. 2055 – 1650 BC) he was replaced by Osiris in his role as lord of the underworld. One of his prominent roles was as a god who ushered souls into the afterlife. He attended the weighing scale during the “Weighing of the Heart,” in which it was determined whether a soul would be allowed to enter the realm of the dead.
Description: I can never get enough of Sphynx cat designs, this time I added some more eyes, a black Sphynx to contrast the white one. I also added a black and a white crescent moon and some geometrical shapes. One cat has an Ankh on her forehead and the other one a Leviathan cross. Ankh, the Crux Ansata, is a symbol of life and immortality. Leviathan cross was a symbol for sulfur and it was later adopted by Anton LaVey and became a satanist symbol. I do not know why I added the extra eyes on the kitties, but it looks kinda appropriate.
Description: …or vampyr, vampir, vamp… This bat is undead, he lives forever under the moonlight. My inspiration is as always the dark side, moon, the mystical, magical and occult. I have added ankh into this design to symbolise the eternal life of a vampire, also the moon changes and a coffin. It looks pretty cool and goth, I hope you like it!
