Description: The Sheboygan Indians operated from 1940–1942 and 1946–1953 as members of the Class D Wisconsin State League. The Indians were preceded by the Sheboygan Chairmakers, who played in the Independent Wisconsin State League from 1923–1932 and 1934–1937. Joe Hauser was the manager of the Indians for their duration. Hauser, incidentally, had been a major-league first baseman in the 1920s primarily with the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1924, he hit 27 home runs to finish second in the American League to Babe Ruth. Hauser began his career with the Sheboygan Indians as a player/manager and then a full-time manager.

The film stars Kevin Costner as "Crash" Davis, a veteran catcher from the AAA Richmond Braves, brought in to teach rookie pitcher Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh (Tim Robbins) about the game in preparation for reaching the major leagues. Baseball groupie Annie Savoy (Susan Sarandon) romances Nuke but finds herself increasingly attracted to Crash. Also featured are Robert Wuhl and Trey Wilson, as well as popular baseball "clown" Max Patkin.
Description: The Seattle Pilots were an American professional baseball team based in Seattle, Washington. The Pilots played their home games at Sick's Stadium and were a member of the West Division of Major League Baseball's American League. On April 1, 1970, after just one season, they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin before being renamed as the Brewers. The "Pilots" name originated from the owner's part-time job as a harbor pilot and the city's association with the aviation industry. The team colors were royal blue and gold (with accessory red in the logo: helm and baseball seams). Seattle had long been a hotbed for minor league baseball and was home to the Seattle Rainiers, a successful team in the Pacific Coast League (PCL).
Description: The Denver Bears were a minor league professional baseball team dating from the 50's until 1983 when the team was renamed the Zephyrs. There was an earlier Denver Bears team playing in the Western League from 1901 to 1954, but this logo is from the later team that played at what became known later as Mile High Stadium, but was originally known as Bears Stadium.
