This salamander has a mucus like substance it excretes from its body to make slithering through mud easier.It lives near river banks and swampy areas.Although not an amphibian it spends a lot of it's time in the water.It's excretions double up as a defense mechanism against predatorial animals.Contact with it causes severe rashes.

Okay okay, maybe I just want my favorite podcast to pay attention to me. It's cute though, right? Red Duck Panda is inspired by a 15 second miscellaneous off-topic conversation on the Tooth and Claw podcast - where Wes, Jeff, and Mike discuss animal attacks, why they happen, and what to do if you ever encounter one.
