Description: Shirley Anita St. Hill Chisholm was the first African American woman in Congress (1968) and the first woman and African American to seek the nomination for president of the United States from one of the two major political parties (1972). Her motto and title of her autobiography—Unbought and Unbossed—illustrates her outspoken advocacy for women and minorities during her seven terms in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Description: I was having a conversation on Facebook when someone started being transphobic and gatekeeping trans and nonbinary people. As a nonbinary person myself, I was of course bothered. I argued my point until I was derisively called an inclusive bean, which I thought was an oddly adorable insult. I decided that I wanted it on a patch for my vest. It turned out that a lot of other people were in love with the idea, as well. So I commissioned my talented friend to bring my idea to life, and here we are!
