Ioannina town, its lake (Pamvotis Lake) and the little island in the lake (in the foreground), one of the two inhabited lake islands in Greece (the other one is Aghios Achileios in Mikri Prespa lake) and one of the very few inhabited lake islands of the world. Ioannina is surely one of my Top-3 destinations in Greece, especially for winter vacations, not only because of the beauty of the town and the lake, but because around the town you can visit some of the most beautiful mountainous regions of Greece, such as Zagorohoria, Metsovo and Tzoumerka. The old stone arched bridge that connects the 2 neighborhoods of Vovousa village one of the most remote villages of East Zagori region, Ioannina, Epirus, Greece. The river below is Aoos river, one of the best rivers for rafting in Greece. Vovousa village, is an excellent "gate" to the National Park of Valia Calda.

The lakeside road of Ioannina, is an open air art exhibition, all kinds of artwork and sculptures are lined up beside Pamvotis ("Pamvotida") lake. Epirus, Greece. If you want to visit the small island of Lake Pamvotis (or "Pamvotida"- Ioannina, Epirus, Greece) and its beautiful village you can take one of the small tourist boats that sail from the Mall, the beautiful lakeside road of Ioannina town. But if you want to enter to the unique atmosphere of the island, even before reaching there, you 'll have to go to the other side of the lake, in a place called Drabatova and ask from one of the inhabitants of the island or the fishermen of the lake to take you with them on a traditional wooden boat, called "plava".

In the old town of Ioannina (Epirus, Greece) , that is surrounded by huge and well preserved walls you can see a lot of interesting things, among them two mosques. One of them is the Fetihye Mosque, the one you see here, "through" the tomb of Ali Pasha.

Astraka, is one of the tallest peaks of Tymfi mountain at 2436 m, famous for its imposing "towers", the vertical rocks that have a height that can reach the 800 metres and are the perfect "playground" for climbers. Here you see one of the many "towers", under cloud attack. Situated in Zagori (or "Zagorohoria") region, Ioannina prefecture, Epirus Perifery, close to the Megalo Papigo, Mikro Papigo, Aristi and Vikos villages, right above the Vikos canyon. But when fog falls, so "thick" that you can "cut it with a knife" (as we Greeks say) then everything seems to "dematerialize", every things "out of time, out of space".
