Description: You can't go to the Hard Deck, the bar featured in "Top Gun: Maverick," in real life because it doesn't actually exist. The good news is that there's a place both exactly like it and even better at the same time. While former naval aviator Capt. Brian Ferguson was working as a technical adviser for the production of "Top Gun: Maverick," he decided to take the film's director and producers to a real Navy hangout and explain the camaraderie behind sharing a drink and sea stories with other pilots.
Description: To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Concord's first commercial flights on January 21st 1976, I have created a set of illustrations depicting Concord from the first flight in 1969 through to the final flight in 2003. This image set against a classic white background is of 5 variants of my drawings for this series showing a pre-production Concorde of 1969 through to the last livery of 2003.
Description: Jolly Rogers - VF-84, Fighter Squadron 84 was an aviation unit of the United States Navy. Originally established as VA-86 on 1 July 1955, it was immediately redesignated as VF-84, it was disestablished on 1 October 1995. It was the third US Navy squadron to be designated as VF-84. The squadron was nicknamed the Jolly Rogers and was based at NAS Oceana. It took the number but not the lineage of VF-84 the "Wolf Gang" and the insignia of VF-61 the Jolly Rogers.

Description: The 429 was NOT simply a 1 (or 2) cubic inch larger version of the blue oval 427 & 428 engines. It was a totally new engine from a different engine family. This design was a departure from the paradigm, utilizing thin-wall casting methods and a skirtless block to reduce weight. The Super Cobra Jet, rated at 375 HP, had a 4-bolt main block, a Holley 780 cfm 4BBL carburetor, and a larger mechanical camshaft. It was only available with a 3.91 or 4.30 rear axle ratio. In 1971, the CJ engine also used a 4-bolt main block. However, these engines were actually derated and produced power in the 440–460 HP range. This was done to deceive insurance companies (common practice in that era), so that buyers did not have to pay higher insurance rates.
