Junji Ito Inspired Pillows
Description: Words can cut deeper than any blade. This powerful design is based on the Japanese proverb “The tongue is the source of calamity,” warning of the chaos that careless speech can unleash. Illustrated in gritty, vintage textures with bold red and gold tones, it’s perfect for those who appreciate the weight of words, retro-style statement art, and the darker side of truth.
Description: Beware what hides in plain sight. This chilling artwork brings to life the Japanese proverb 「灯台下暗し」(Tōdai moto kurashi) – “It’s darkest under the lamp post”, meaning we often overlook what’s right under our noses. Illustrated with an eerie twist, this piece features Nurarihyon, a cunning yokai known for sneaking into homes and pretending to be the master of the house. Rendered in a horror manga-inspired style, this design blends traditional Japanese folklore with a modern dark art aesthetic.
