Legio V Alaudae Pillows
Description: The elephant of Legio V Alaudae stands above the compact LEG V ALAUDAE inscription in dark earth pigment. Its emblem recalls the legion’s celebrated stand against enemy elephants at Thapsus in 46 BCE. Irregular contours and worn gaps give this original period-inspired illustration the character of an ancient hand-painted military mark rather than a polished modern crest. It is a historical interpretation, not an exact reconstruction of a surviving standard. The transparent background lets the product color show through; dark umber ink reads best on light colors.
Description: The roman legion Legio V Alaudae was establshed by Caesar himself. The legion emblem of this legion was the elephant. This legion was battle hardened and famous. This SPQR Design with the roman legion Legio V Alaudae is designed with the legion symbol of the elephant, laurel wreath and a roman gladius. A great motif for fans of ancient Rome, history teachers and historians.
