Night of the Living Dead is a 1968 American independent horror film directed, photographed, and edited by George A. Romero, written by Romero and John Russo, produced by Russell Streiner and Karl Hardman, and starring Duane Jones and Judith O'Dea. The story follows seven people trapped in a farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania, under assault by reanimated corpses. Although the flesh-eating monsters that appear in the film are referred to as "ghouls", they are credited with popularizing the modern portrayal of zombies in popular culture.

"You think this is a fucking costume? This is a way of life!" While the entire cast of punks from RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD were incredibly fashionable in their own individual ways, no one stuck out like Freddy. Black suspenders, striped baseball cap, red varsity jacket, and that olive green sleeveless tee with the mysterious logo emblazoned upon it. I've recreated Freddy's iconic sleeveless here; the Japanese writing on the side translates to "send paramedics". I recommend the men's "military green" color or women's "light olive" color, but it also works on several other colors as well! (Also in pin form, here: cameraviscera.bigcartel.com)

LIVING DEAD

"They're coming to get you Barbara ..." in the beginning of the film Night of the Living Dead, this phrase is said mockingly, and yet, it still comes off creepy as hell. It wasn't technically the first film to feature zombies, but it was the first centered around a world where the dead rise to literally eat the living. With one small, low-budget black and white movie, George Romero created an entire genre that would be adored by zillions forever. Why are so many people fascinated by zombies? There are many reasons, but the thought of people who were once good, sentient humans with thoughts and dreams and families, turned into mindless beasts whose one primal goal is to eat living people is pretty scary. Not to mention cool as hell.

The Return of the Living Dead is a 1985 American comedy horror film written and directed by Dan O'Bannon (in his directorial debut) from a story by Rudy Ricci, John Russo, and Russell Streiner, and starring Clu Gulager, James Karen, Thom Matthews, and Don Calfa. The film tells the story of how a warehouse owner, accompanied by his two employees, mortician friend and a group of teenage punks, deal with the accidental release of a horde of unkillable, brain-hungry zombies onto an unsuspecting town.

Well - it's a human skull with wild roses and latin text "Mortui vivos docent" , meaning "the Dead teach the Living". This classical quote is used to justify dissections of human cadavers in order to understand the cause of death.
