Description: Turoń (say: TOO-rohn) is the horned, black, shaggy beast of Polish Christmas caroling: a carved wooden head on a stick with a clacking jaw and a bell, worn by a caroler hidden under a blanket. To get it out again, the host paid the carolers off with coins and a gift from the pantry. Original engraving-style artwork: the beast under a caroler's star on a snowy night.
