Posts on the River Walk is an art print I created using an abstract watercolor technique. This technique focuses on sharper abstract shapes with subtle colors creating a modern look. deep below ground in Battery Mishler in what was once a harbor defense command post in World War II, and a harbor entrance control post in world War I, is this burnt out and abandoned power hoist. at one point after the site was no longer in use some vagrants went in there and lit a fire to keep warm, and the entire place went up in flames . Now all that remains is a shell of what once was a powerful and vibrant military center. the low lighting in this photo gives it an otherworldly ghostly effect like trying to peer into the past.

Our vineyard has undergone a major restoration since 2013. 100's of posts have been replaced. Magpie Springs is a rustic farm very close to the McLaren Vale in the Adelaide Hills Wine Region. The property has some of the oldest vines in the Southern Adelaide Hills. Our vineyard, homestead, art gallery and cellar door in the centre of the Fleurieu Peninsula is nestled back from B34, the main road from Hahndorf to Willunga Hill. We are half way from Adelaide to Victor Harbor. Deep underground in Battery Mishler, Fort Stevens Oregon, behind the furnace, there is a little vent with grass roots coming from the surface, growing down from the vent and nearly touching the floor below.These grass roots grow deep. really deep, into what was at one time an underground harbor defense command post during World War II.low lighting and a long exposure time make the ball of grass roots near the vent appear like a glowing ball of fire in some sci-fi, dystopia of concrete and metal ruins.

It isn't a phone booth or a phone box. It's a telephone room from Battery Mishler which was once a harbor defense command post during World War II. the alcove where the phone once stood now stands empty as theconrete begins to crumble around it. the under ground lighting makes it appear white with blue tones and shadows.

Deep underground in Battery Mishler at fort Stevens Oregon are corridors and hallways to explore via an underground tour of what was a harbor defense command post during world War II, and a harbor entrance control post during World War I. It was in use as early as 1890 if I recall correctly. if you take the tour stay close to your guide because it is seriously dark in there and getting lost could be dangerous and spooky. Bring a good flashlight and non slip shoes. The floor is damp the ceilings are drippy with wetness, the beams are rusty and corroded, and the concrete walls are aged with time. It is like taking a walk through history, thinking about the soldiers who served their country over the past 2 centuries there and thinking abou...

An opening in the ceiling at Battery Mishler, I am not sure what its purpose what or what was the purpose of the metal bars hanging down like some sort of rusty pull up bar.

Looking out over Lake Garda from the picturesque town of Limone Sul Garda which sits on its north western shore. Lake Garda, known for its crystal clear water, stretches up in a northerly direction to the Dolomite Mountains which, at this northern end surround it and sweep down to its shores. A little further to the north of Limone is the bustling town of Riva del Garda. This image has been finished in the style of an oil painting.

Lantern well at batter Mishler, fort stevens, Oregon. this facility was in use from the civil war era through world war I and II, so this is definitelyan interesting piece of military history.

The village of Peschiera Maraglio is on the the island of Monte Isola on Lake Iseo. Monte Isola is the largest island on a lake in Europe. This snowy owl was captured in Pennsylvania's Allegheny Mountains during winter near an old farmhouse. The owl had staked out its hunting territory and I watched it for several days, swooping to catch its prey - always returning to this old fence post.
