The beach and promenade at Blyth in Northumberland on the North East coast of England on a blustery October morning with ominous dark clouds in the sky. The clouds were not enough to dissuade a couple of brave souls taking their surfboards into the sea.

Weymouth Rover Number of views as of 4th March 2018 = 875. A rather fine classic car, pictured on Weymouth promenade (Dorset, England), believed to be a 1948 Rover 12 Sports Tourer. Rover 12 production began in 1905 and continued until the late 1940s, with several 'updates' along the way and gaps in production during the war years. Minehead is a beautiful coastal town situated on the south side of the Bristol Channel in Somerset, England, UK. Minehead takes its name from the North hill - MYNED - which is an old English word meaning a hill. There was a small port at Minehead by 1380, in 1420 Lady Margaret Luttrell gave money for improvements to be made and a jetty to be built.

Sidmouth is another of those devon seaside towns with distinctive red Devonian sandstone cliffs and beach. Seen here from its Western promenade as it climbs the cliff, I've painted this view in oil on a 12x12 inch board. Carry on behind me and you'll come to a nice clifftop spot for tea and a very large slice of cake!
