Russian Folk Pillows

Aleksey Remizov was an expert calligrapher who wrote in a very innovative way, creating fantasy inspired by folk traditions. In a way, devils and demons were his favorite motif. There were all types of them, some even so small that you could barely see them! Remizov is a writer of the original style. His opus is still to be explored. He died in exile.

On the right, the wicked stepmother orders her husband to take his daughter to the forest and leave her there to die. In the center, the girl receives gifts from Morozko. Magical snowflakes from Morozko's staff dance around the borders.
