Saugus Cafe Pillows
Description: James Herbert Tolfree opened the Saugus Café inside Santa Clarita's Saugus Train Depot in 1886 as the Saugus Eating House. The restaurant was renamed Saugus Café in 1899, and in 1916, moved out of the train station and across the tracks to where it operated for the next 109 years. The Saugus Café was a family-run restaurant that served breakfast all day, as well as lunch and dinner, before closing in early 2026 after 139 years.
Description: A vintage-style oval emblem with a red background and a dark blue outline. Inside, "SAUGUS" is written in large, off-white, textured capital letters, with "Cafe" below in smaller, script-style off-white text. Above "SAUGUS" is a tan banner with "THE ORIGINAL" in dark text. Below "Cafe" is "EST. 1826" in off-white. At the bottom, in a script font, is "Santa Clarita, California" in a tan color. The emblem also features small tan banners on the sides.
