Egrets...I've had a few - Snowy Egret taken in Englewood, Florida with Canon 7D and Canon 70-200 f4 lens

The snowy egret is actually a small heron. It's numbers were severely decimated in the 1800's because of the interest in it's plumage. Thankfully, the snowy egret has made a comeback and is now thriving.

This is my original artwork of a solitary snowy egret standing on the rocks of the eastern Florida barrier islands.

This is another in the triptych of Egrets and Reflections. It shows a Snowy egret fluffing up it's plumage whilst stepping daintily through the water. I took the original image in Indian Shores in Florida and edited it in Photoshop CC, I have already posted the third image in this series a few months ago, it's called "Sometimes You've Just Got to scratch it"

A beautiful snowy egret against a black background, preening itself and creating contrasting reflections in the water. The egret was taken at Indian Shores in Florida and is part of a triptych of egrets on black grounds that I have put together with Photoshop , Flaming pear and topaz plug ins.

This snowy egret was photographed by myself along the coast of one of Georgia's barrier islands - St. Simons Island.

Snowy Egret Catch on the Move by Debra Martz I could not believe what I was seeing on this particular morning. I've watched Snowy Egrets "fish" for many years. They position themselves in an area and watch the water closely before probing for a fish as they see it go by them. But on this morning, several Snowies were leaving the peninsula and half running, half dragging their feet while stirring up some fish and then would nab on the go!
