Description: Slice was a line of fruit-flavored soft drinks introduced in 1984 to replace the 'Teem' line of sodas, with the original flavor being lemon lime. Slice's distinguishing characteristic at the time was that it contained 10% fruit juice, something no other mainstream soda could claim. The line quickly expanded to about a dozen flavors, with advertisements featuring the slogan "we got the juice." By 1988, the juice content was reduced to just 2% and packaging now said "with fruit juices" instead of "10% fruit juices." The slogan was changed to "either you got it or you don't."
Description: Owner of Hatcher Grocery Store in Columbus, Georgia, Claud Hatcher, began bottling his own ginger ale and root beer in 1905. Hatcher continued to develop more sodas over the years, finding a hit with a cherry soda he called 'Chero-Cola,' subsequently dubbing his soda business The Chero-Cola Company. Hatcher created the Nehi line of fruit-flavored sodas in 1924, the name a play on the 'knee-high' tall bottles. The new sodas were instantly successful, and soon outselling Chero-Cola entirely. The following year the company's name was changed to Nehi, and the new line became the company's best sellers.

Squirt became a popular soft drink in many parts of the country, especially the West and Southwest. In the 1950s, it became commonly used as a mixer in cocktails. Squirt is naturally flavored but contains less than 2% grapefruit juice. Like many other soft drinks, the packaging of Squirt has varied over the years. In 1983, Diet Squirt, the first soft drink in the United States to be sweetened with aspartame, was introduced. In the mid 1980s, a vitamin-C-enriched Diet Squirt Plus was briefly marketed. In the early 1990s, Squirt Sorbet, a frozen treat, was offered in Detroit area supermarkets.
