Description: First to fight, last to die. This is how you could summarize the battle doctrine of Knights Templar. In the times of their greatness, they served as an elite formation of heavy knights, which served the purpose of breaking the enemy lines with a strike of an armoured fist, and during a march or retreat the knights served in the most difficult position, namely at the back of the army, in the arierguard. When covering the retreating brothers in arms, the Templars have suffered great losses, but not many troops were characterized with such an unyielding contempt towards death, and such perfect mastery of battle craft, that they could be assigned to fight at the rear. And so, with iron and blood, the Templars forged their legend.
