Trend Summer Pillows

On Friday, when Mila was so reluctant to pose for me, Hudson (5) was sweetly willing. So I did a portrait of him, too,

Mixing some geometric patterns that I enjoy with my own doodled patterns and pretty colors and gradients.

A detailed, doodled pattern in shades of blue and grey. Because I really really love blue. And aqua and turquoise and cobalt and all the shades in between. :)

I'm really enjoying working with art deco shapes and themes, this is one of three colorways.

Some happy Sunday pattern play - rainbow shades with black and white.

This is a little different for me and I wasn't even 100% sure I should upload it, but my husband and my son really liked it (both versions) so I decided to upload it after all. (This is the second colour version.)

I've been working on this pattern for the last few days, a simple floral in warm pinks, purples and magenta. I like irises, they're so floppy and delicate and yet sculptural and structured at the same time. This is one of two colorways.

Tips and advice welcome!! I absolutely love other people's digital paintings that I've seen around the web, and more than anything I wish I could do it! So I'm trying, but wow. It's not so easy. If any of you can give me any advice or tips, I would LOVE that. I don't have a drawing tablet, so I can't use pressure sensitivity and this was all done with a mouse... Digitally painted in Photoshop CS5.

Yup. Still doodling. Still messing around with hexagons. Now at the same time! Hexagons are a fascinating shape to me; I really like them. (Can you tell?) : )

Indulging my recent affection for all things yellow & grey, and of course, my obsession with hexagons.

I wanted to make strawberry patterns, first with a simple photograph with the strawberries arranged in some semblance of a polka dot pattern and secondly, digitally using the strawberries to make a true repeat pattern. Just experimenting and playing with ideas. So this is the photo version, obviously.

I drew and painted these little cars in the hopes of making something for the baby boy that I'm expecting, but girls like cars, too, don't they? : )

The blossoms of Spring make up such an overwhelming wealth of beauty, too much to take in, each one a unique and fragile, incredible and detailed, never to repeated, perfectly designed and utterly lovely creation. This was taken in my (new) back yard, a lovely place if ever there was one. A little orchard with all sorts of different fruit trees has been planted behind my house, and includes an enchanting little Wendy house that Mila (and Hudson and Reilly) are thoroughly enjoying. : )

I know I have pushed this a little more digitally in the processing than I normally do with my photographs, but I'm still going to count it towards my 52 week challenge because I actually got my camera out and took some photos.
