Description: New Wave (French: La Nouvelle Vague) is a French film movement which emerged in the 1950s and 1960s. It is a form of European art cinema, and is often referred to as one of the most influential movements in the history of cinema. Common features of the New Wave included radical experimentation with editing, visual style, and narrative, as well as engagement with the social and political upheavals of the era.
Description: There was something ridiculous about traveling before smartphones made navigation effortless. Getting from one place to another could require printing an entire stack of directions from the internet, each page packed with vague instructions, questionable landmarks, and turns that somehow made perfect sense to the person who wrote them. You’d organize the pages, highlight sections, and place the collection within reach before starting the journey. Then, somewhere along the way, you’d discover that “turn right after the large building” was not nearly as helpful as it sounded. Every missed turn meant flipping through many pages while trying to figure out where things had gone wrong. Somehow, this was considered a reasonable navigation system.
