This is an image of the cobblestones at San Diego's Spanish Village Art Center, a coveted secret for art lovers. The Spanish Village Art Center is a small village of artists of all kinds, and is situated between the San Diego Zoo and the Natural History Museum in the heart of Balboa Park. One of the main things that attracts the eye in this village is the flowering bougainvilleas and the multi-colored cobblestones all over (shown here in a close-up). Agios Efstratios is one of the smallest inhabited Greek islands with around 200 permanent inhabitants. Agios Efstratios was used as a place of exile between 1929-1944 and 1947-1964. Between 1947-1964 around 7000 political prisoners (among them important writers, poets, actors, politicians) remained for long periods of their lives in this beautiful island of the Aegean.
