Boathouses on the banks of the River Thames at Goring opposite the lock and just upstream from the old mill. Goring is an extremely picturesque village on the north bank of the Thames in Oxfordshire, just over the river from Streatley in Berkshire. Here the river flows through the Goring Gap between the Chiltern Hills in the north and the Berkshire or North Wessex Downs in the south. Being so picturesque, Goring is a favourite location for photographers and painters - including JM Turner!

The church and mill buildings at Whitchurch on Thames viewed from the toll bridge. Whitchurch is in South Oxfordshire and lies on the north bank of the River Thames opposite the Berkshire village of Pangbourne. On a backwater next to the lock is the old mill, now converted into housing together with several old brick and tile cottages. The parish church of St Mary, largely rebuilt in 1857 is thought to be of Saxon origin.

In November 2021 a group of us attempted to land at Christmas Village Bay to hike Mt Anglem/ Hananui. The sea was too rough so we ended up doing a chunk of the South West Circuit. Spoiler alert: It's STUPIDLY muddy, but if you approach with a sense of adventure it's great fun. The third day was a heck of a challenge as we had to traverse 8 hours of mud to reach a tide dependant water taxi at Rakeahua hut. If not we'd be stuck in the muddle of nowhere!

Staithes is a seaside village in the Scarborough Borough of North Yorkshire, England. Roxby Beck, a stream running through Staithes, is the border between the Borough of Scarborough and Redcar and Cleveland.

The lovely Somerset village Montacute (UK) is dominated by an impressive Elizabethan mansion, Montacute House, named after the Roman name for the hill next to the village 'mons acutus', which means steep hill. In summer tourists flock to the village to visit the mansion and its gardens, but the village itself, all built in golden ham stone, is beautiful by itself and surrounded by bucolic nature. Loving this primitive tropical island theme

This is a partial view of the square in one of the "stone villages" of Konitsa, Gannadio. You can see the platan tree, the eternal symbol of unity in the small communities all around Greece, the "meeting point" of the village. In the background you can see one of the churches of the village, Agioi Taxiarhes.
