Description: The Washougal National Motocross made its debut on July 6, 1980, at Washougal Motocross Park, nestled among the towering fir trees of Clark County, Washington. Located just south of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and north of the Columbia River, the scenic circuit quickly became one of the sport's most iconic venues. From the very first race, Washougal's unique combination of a hard clay base, loamy topsoil, sweeping berms, and dramatic elevation changes delivered a challenging ride through the forest. At the inaugural National, Chuck Sun claimed victory in the 500cc class, while Mark Barnett topped the 125cc field.
