When i lived in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver in the 1990s, i kept seeing this ‘repent sinner’ sticker everywhere around the city and beyone… it was always hand written in two colours: repent in red and sinner in black jiffy marker… they were posted on telephone poles, walls—everywhere… rumour has it that it was an elderly Jamaican woman who was the culprit—who definitely made her message clear… frankly, i thought it was a brilliant guerrilla marketing art project! we’ll never really know… x (((o)))
