Every-wen

Description: Wild hare vs tortoise - a new take on an old fable

Description: Fish with shweshwe pattern

Description: Dung beetle vs meerkat

Description: A design I did for my daughter's birthday - she was (and still is) really crazy about these lovable dogs!

Description: This is a drawing inspired by my mom - she was a very good quilter and loved Keltic knots (so that's the thimble part), and her nickname was Crabby because when we were small she was often....crabby. In her defence, we were a handful!!

Description: A design showcasing the playful nature of a lion and a South African flower called a Strelitzia (aka Crane flower) - its petals remind me of a lion's mane.

Description: Inspired by the textures and colours found in coastal rock pools in Hermanus, South Africa

Description: Inspired by the beautiful relationship between the cattle egret and rhino - the bird feeds off insects on the rhino and warns it of any danger by flying up and making a noise. Both are sitting under an Acacia tree with shweshwe patterns.

Description: A celebration of these big, beautiful animals combined with vibrant colors and shweshwe patterns!

Description: A baboon in a top hat with an orchid ... with some Seventies-inspired patterns ... and some inspiration from Gustav Klimt.

Description: Inspired by the beauty of Shweshwe patterns and the playful nature of elephants.

Description: A design inspired by the energy of grumpy, old grizzly bears and crazy hippy patterns.

Description: A hairless cat wearing curlers and smoking a cigarette against a backdrop of dodgy garments on a washing-line. The end.

Description: A Gustav Klimt inspired giraffe grazing on a freakshake (those enormous milkshakes piled high with all things hedonistic).

Description: As a kid, chameleon's fascinated me with their 360 degree eyes and ability to change colour and camouflage themselves. Their curly tails remind me of lollipops (those big ones that last forever), so my brain drew this.

Description: A nickname for warthogs are "walkie talkies" because of their straight tails that points upwards and look like the aerial of a walkie talkie radio (especially when they are running). This drawing is a play on this nickname and combines it with traditional Shweshwe fabric patterns from South Africa.

Description: The ferocious appetite of sausage dogs was the inspiration for this design

Description: A basset hound looking up at an extravagant birthday cake - trying really hard to exercise restraint. This artwork was inspired by my childhood sausage dog, Tinker - she also tried to be a good dog when there was food around but wasn't always successful!

Description: A design inspired by the beauty and quirkiness of prickly pears

Description: I love the way that possums carry their babies around on their backs - its comical and adorable! This design is a play on this but with a portable tea party instead!

Description: Groovy seventies patterns and vibrant colours mingle with cosmic vibes to create a vibey backdrop to this baboon with a bad attitude. My sister says that it looks like he is about to do a drug deal - it wasn't the intention, but I see her point.

Description: This design is inspired by all the beautiful, fat sheep and brightly coloured flowers that I see everywhere in the Netherlands.

Description: Inspired by my love for wild hares, Native American jewellery and the Arizona desert.

Description: Underestimate shetlands ponies at your peril - really cute looking but can be really stubborn and quote bitey too!

Description: Inspired by a pig's affinity for water - they are actually really good swimmers!

Description: A design inspired by gemstones, jewel colours, beads, polished glass and retro patterns. As a kid, I would often spend hours at gemstone scratch-patches or bead shops (actually as an adult too!) - the different shapes and colours are really mesmerising.

Description: A design inspired by a beach in Hermanus, South Africa - the waves used to wash up small shells, bits of opaque glass polished by the sea and pieces of coral. If you brushed your hand over the sand, the patterns kept changing like a kaleidoscope.

Description: A walrus with a Carmen Miranda inspired headdress and a faberge egg. Sometimes a design lives in my head and pesters me until I drawn it - this was one of those!

Description: I love sausage dogs - they are fiesty, adorable and sometimes snappy. This is a design celebrating this daring little dog - wearing its namesake jersey and surrounded by bold colors and patterns.

Description: I could have said that this was a commentary on the wild vs civilisation - but truthfully the idea of a hibernating bear sleeping on a pile of shoes just appealed to me.

Description: A design inspired by the quirkiness of fishbones and a play on the words "skull and crossbones".
