Description: The chimera of legend was a three-headed beast that supposedly desecrated the countryside of Lycia in Anatolia, now modern day turkey. It was a fire-breathing creature with the body and head of a lion, a goat's head rising from its back, the udders of a goat, and a serpent for a tail. A horrible monstrosity to gaze upon. The hero Bellerophon, one of the first great Greek heroes of legend, before the times of Jason and the mighty Hercules, was commanded by King Iobates to slay the beast. Since the beast lived high upon the mountains reaching him without flying was impossible. Luckily Bellerophon had an ace up his sleeve, the incredible Pegasus. Our hero rode to the top of the mountain upon his trusty friend and won the day as you can too.
