Description: Surreal depiction of paranoia. Wikipedia refers: Paranoia is a thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of delusion and irrationality. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself (e.g. "Everyone is out to get me"). Paranoia is distinct from phobias, which also involve irrational fear, but usually no blame. Making false accusations and the general distrust of others also frequently accompany paranoia. For example, an incident most people would view as an accident or coincidence, a paranoid person might believe was intentional. Oils on 90X60cm canvas
Description: I don't know why, but the couple in this painting are cock-a-hoop over something. They are in the throws of celebration, open mouthed, arms raised, bunting flying, champagne popping with all sorts of faces and gestures accompanying them out of the bottle. See how many of their friends faces you can spot!
Description: We all know that men don't listen as attentively as women. Here we have that very situation demonstrated. A man and woman are sitting at a cafe/bar and she is giving him the third degree over something or other. She's bolt upright, arm behind her back less she leashes out out him, an aggressive posture. He's slumped, head exploded, not listening. The only input from him, useless and completely missing her point, is for her to mind the precariously balanced tea cup containing hot tea on the counter!
Description: We all like to eat out and enjoy fine wine and food. The couple in the painting, L'Addition S'il Vous Plait, are doing just that. They have enjoyed food but unfortunately too much wine has accompanied their meal. They now find themselves falling under the table bringing the content of the table, table cloth, plates, utensils, wine, glasses down with them. Obviously unconcerned as they are still in fits of laughter, but it is time for the bill, and as they are in France, there's only a few words they can say, L'Addition S'il Vous Plait, can we have the bill please. Oils on 152X122cm canvas.
Description: The sometimes robotic nature of bar activity. Nothing happening, people are just drinking, not even talking. The barman, I assume that's him on the right, polishes the till, nothing to be done, nothing to be said, he's in a virtual mask restricting any intercourse with customers lined up across the bar staring, drinking, nothing! You, as the observer, see this scene from across the table through your own emptying glass, not speaking, just looking! Oils on 150X100cm canvas.
Description: Inspired by the Salvador Dali masterpiece 'Christ of Saint John Of The Cross', this piece depicts spiritual connotations without being specific about a god or religious movement. The piece is intended to convey spiritual freedom being released, whichever religion, not specific connotations with the Christian belief of God ascending to heaven. Also, much in the same way as Dali's painting, there is no indication of the observers position in space; are you in space standing on something, in a capsule, on earth looking up, standing on a ladder....?
