Description: Marsha P. Johnson and the brick heard around the queer world! With art by the amazing Valentine Barker (www.valentinebarker.com), this shirt celebrates the history that we sometimes forget, that trans ladies of color started the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement. Mostly by throwing bricks.
Description: Sylvia Rivera was a Latinix pioneer of the Gay & Transgender Rights movement. A bisexual, transgender, drag queen; Sylvia began her activism with the Civil Rights Movement. After being one of the first to take a stand at the Stonewall Riots, she continued into co-founding STAR (which worked to help homeless queer youth) and AIDS Activism. Andrea Rosales produced this portrait for us as part of our Heroes & Inspirations project.
