Description: I rarely ever do images like this one - which would be VERY shocking to 16 year old me - He would wonder what happened, and he would be heartbroken that we have the ability to do these types of images, and that we are wasting our time with geometric abstracts, and Colorform studies.... Sir here's one for you, 16 year old John - It/s a rocking little demon piece that has some pretty sick flames in it - It'd make a rad tour shirt - It's totally the wrong size for an album cover, unless it was a fold out record cover.... Half on one side, half on the other side - unfold it to see the whole image..... That kind of thing.
Description: This started out as me trying to do some sort of a challenge to myself - to create one "Screaming" inspired image for each day in October (2019) - and it turned into something special. This piece seems to "speak" to so many people - it brings out reactions in them - good and bad. In some way I have to confess that it makes me sad that so many people see this and identify with it...
Description: “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms...” Henry David Thoreau
Description: Whenever you see a figure in some position of authority demanding to have someone turned over - Maybe a dictator or a tiny handed temper tantrum tyrant that is insisting to know who said mean things about him.... Anytime something like that happens, I hear the phrase, "I am Spartacus" in my head.
Description: I have ALWAYS hated when I see an artist name something in a lay way - "blue sky with hawk" or something crappy like that.... But sometimes I get stuck..... This is one of those cases.... Coral Reef Pointillism is what it is.... It is me trying to learn how to speak the language of this particular art style, and failing about a thousand times.... It is me trying to understand what type of an image best translates into the style. And it is me trying to grow and create something beautiful while following certain "rules" and guidelines, rather than tossing them to the side....
