Description: The Cascais Lighthouse, locally known as the Ponta de Santa Maria Farol was built in 1868. The focal plane is at 25 meters altitude with white or red light, depending on the direction. The light is 4.5 seconds on and 15 seconds off.

Description: *The Priory and Parish Church of St Mary, Lancaster: * Lancaster Priory as it is more commonly known - overlooks the centre of Lancaster. It is situated adjacent to Lancaster Castle in a conservation area with stunning views across Morecambe Bay to the Lakeland Hills. The church is a Grade 1 listed building, located on a site which has seen Christian worship since Saxon times. The carved choir stalls with their misericords are nationally famous. It is one of the most frequently visited parish churches in the North West, and particularly during the summer months. Taken on Samsung NX11, 20-50mm. Tweaked in Photoshop.

Description: Taken in Cortona, Tuscany, Italy last summer, on the Via San Niccolò. I have edited 3 separate images in CS6 Photoshop pro using the Merge to HDR option with final editing of the resulting Tiff file in Adobe Camera raw as a 32-bit image to get the best result. This is first 'proper' attempt at HDR using more than 1 image and to be honest I am quite pleased with it. I don't generally like HDR as its over-used in many images but hopefully this has helped bring out a better dynamic range without the comic book effect you see all too often.

Description: Lake Trasimeno (Italian: Lago Trasimeno) is the largest lake on the Italian peninsula, part of the province of Perugia, in the Umbria region. The Lake is located in the south of the Po River and to the north of the nearby Tiber River, with a surface area of 128 sq km, slightly less than Lake Como. No major river flows directly into or out of Lake Trasimeno and the water level fluctuates significantly according to rainfall levels and the seasonal demands from the towns, villages and farms near the shore.

Description: St Botolph's Church is in Colchester, Essex. The present Church was dedicated in 1837. It was built in the style of the old Norman building, with semicircular arches and Norman ornamentation. The interior is reminiscent of the Georgian City churches. The three East windows came from Flanders. Samuel Harsnett, Archbishop of York in 1628, was born in the parish and is commemorated in the South wall Window. The Church was nearly destroyed by fire during the 1943 air raids. It had its own team of fire watchers which dealt with several incendiary bombs, although one fell on a radiator and the resulting fire was extinguished by the escaping water!
