Description: Long before the energy contained within electric eels were used to power small to medium cities, the larger of the species, typically referred to as “giant electric eels”, were often ridden by cowboys of seaside towns to prove how manly they were. Not only did they have to maintain their position on top of the beast, but they also had to endure the voltage pumped out by the irate eel as it tried to shake them off. The sport eventually faded as the giant electric eel began to die off, due to mass consumption by daredevil foodies.
