Hekate's mother is the Titaness of Stars, Asteria. As such, Hekate spans a connection between both the Heavens and the Underworld.

I started with the Rose Cross sigil technique, and Hekate’s name. Thus I ended up with a simple set of angles and a circle. I poured the paint onto the canvas in that same pattern, in the colors most closely associated with Hekate (red, black, white, and yellow.) This being fluid art, of course the paints wanted to move and shift and blend across the surface, which I expected. I did my best to keep the paint along the lines of the sigil, but there’s only so much control in this method of painting. The end result has a distinct lack of a clear sigil, but a fire-like quality when looked at upside down. This reminds me of the cemetery art tradition, of death being symbolized by an upside down torch. All of which is very Hekatean. I hope y...
