Citrus boom watercolor art

Watercolour and ink on yupo. I am really enjoying working on this surface. The colour sits on the surface and appears quite vibrant. I am encountering some areas of resistance to the paint, however, and have to scrub it a little with a damp brush before it will accept the paint. I think I read that a little dish washing soap also helps. Watercolour and Ink on yupo. Yupo paper makes colour pop and with florals it provides the perfect surface to maximize their amazing and varied colour. In many cultures, barn owls symbolise wisdom, magic, and knowledge of what others cannot see. The Barn Owl's silent flight ensures her a swift and successful hunt. I really enjoyed painting this Owl in a loose, soft and expressive watercolour style - with fine detail on the face to draw the viewer in, and softness of wing feathers to create the sense of flight. Painted from my own reference photo, this Barn Owl is a truly original design.
