Given that we seem to be doing so poorly just recently for wildlife according to the recent reports... Maybe we should be conducting 'Mast' and not so much 'Mass' ~ because I can't think of anything less spirited than that of losing Wildlife and the biodiversity that surrounds us... We need much more than prayers... and we do need some miracles!!! On Winter watch just recently 'the beech tree' came into discussion ~ so I decided to go out and capture an image of such a lovely beautiful and handsome specimen... We used to own seven or eight mature old beech trees some 400+ years old massive trees ~ when we lived in Llanllyfni and my mother owned a nursery in their grounds ~ but sadly, most were lost to the bypass development... ...

I don't know exactly what inspired me to create this piece... I think it was a comment made in the entry details to a Competition that I entered which subconsciously left me processing... It mentioned something about being careful in photography whilst shooting wildlife... or something similar... which left me somewhat puzzled... and rummaging around in my brain as to how that balances...? Shooting and shooting... i.e. Shooting Photographs and Shooting Wildlife! I often take care with my social media terminology, so as not to confuse... *"Going out on a shoot" for me is a photography shoot at that - and for most purposes - for conservation measure...* Guns and Wildlife conservation ideally shouldn't go hand in hand.
