Description: Stereo Super Stores was a beloved regional electronics chain that helped define Oregon's hi-fi scene for more than three decades. The company began in Portland in 1958 as Oregon Hi-Fi & Recorder Co., later shortening its name to Oregon Hi-Fi as it expanded its selection of home stereo equipment, portable audio, televisions, and consumer electronics. In 1979, the business rebranded as Stereo Super Stores and shifted its focus to premium home stereo systems, car audio, and professional installation services across its three Portland-area locations.
