It might be all that fresh green grass, or maybe he/she just remembered a funny joke...but this appears to be one very happy wombat!

The koala gets its name from an ancient Aboriginal word meaning “no drink” because it receives over 90% of its hydration from the Eucalyptus leaves (also known as gum leaves) it eats, and only drinks when ill or times when there is not enough moisture in the leaves. The koala is found in coastal areas of the mainland’s eastern and southern regions, inhabiting Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. The world famous red kangaroo is the largest marsupial and the largest Australian mammal, with some males standing at two metres tall, and weighing around 85 kilograms. Females are smaller than males and tend to be blue-grey with a brown tinge, although arid zone females are coloured more like males.They are found across central Australia in all states and territories except Tasmania. The amethystine python or scrub python can be found in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Australia. It is one of the six largest snakes in the world, as measured either by length or weight, and is the largest native snake in Australia. The critically endangered Australian Potoroo is a small marsupial found only in the south of Western Australia. There are only around 50 surviving in the wild. It is threatened by foxes and feral cats.

The olive python is one of Australia’s largest pythons, growing to almost 4 metres. They can be found across northern Australia in mountain ranges and savannah woodlands and favour rocky gorges and watercourses. The Australian rainbow lorikeet is a gregarious, colourful and noisy bird.

I made this art in tribute for Koala and Wildfires in Australia.

Echo the Lyrebird loves to get up close and personal with anyone trying to take his photo. In fact he likes to get so close that he will stick his head right inside your lens hood. Wombats are such awesome creatures; they are a perfect spirit animal. They’re mostly nocturnal. They have short legs and strong muscular butts. They build their homes underground and in times of danger, like bushfires they welcome other animals in to keep them safe. Best spirit animal ever.
