It's a beach town nowhere near the ocean, where the city center is a trailer park and the beach is a mixture of toxic sludge and pulverized fish bones. It has a dry, arid climate, and is home to many coyotes and bike gang members, both of which frequently end up as roadkill. At some point in time, it had a population of approximately 3,010, as seen on a welcome sign on the approach to the town. Sandy Shores is based on California's real life Salton Sea region.
