Description: The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a space telescope designed to conduct infrared astronomy. Its high-resolution and high-sensitivity instruments allow it to view objects too old, distant, or faint for the Hubble Space Telescope. Description: An image of the Cartwheel Galaxy and its companion galaxies is a composite taken from the James Webb’s Near-Infrared and Mid-Infrared Instrument on the powerful telescope. This cartwheel galaxy formed as the result of a high-speed collision that occurred about 400 million years ago. The Cartwheel is composed of two rings, a bright inner ring and a colorful outer ring. Both rings expand outward from the center of the collision like shock waves.
