Wire 154 Bags
Description: 154 is the third album by the English post-punk band Wire, released in 1979 on EMI imprint Harvest Records in the UK and Europe and Warner Bros. Records in America. Branching out even further from the minimalist punk rock style of their earlier work, 154 is considered a progression of the sounds displayed on Wire's previous album Chairs Missing, with the group experimenting with slower tempos, fuller song structures and a more prominent use of guitar effects, synthesizers and electronics.
Description: Formed in 1979 by Fritz Catlin, Johnny Turnbull and Sam Mills, and later augmented by Alex Turnbull and Tom Heslop, 23 Skidoo had interests in martial arts, Burundi and Kodo drumming, Fela Kuti, The Last Poets, William S. Burroughs, as well as the emerging confluence of industrial, post-punk and funk, heard in artists such as A Certain Ratio, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, The Pop Group and This Heat.

Description: Before post-punk found its shape, Wire were already dismantling the blueprint. Inspired by the stark innovation of their late-'70s era, this weathered underground poster channels fractured guitar rhythms, tangled transmission lines, and the cold geometry of Britain's concrete landscape. With brutalist architecture, distorted radio signals, and distressed screen-print textures, it captures the restless experimental spirit behind Pink Flag, Chairs Missing, and 154.
