He is remembered as the leader of a group of merry men that lived in Sherwood Forest who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor. That was the legend. The truth was much different and is revealed for the first time in Tammy's Diary.

Everyone shouted, "Run for your lives!" and scurried every which way. Alfred said, "What do you make of it, Lucinda?" Lucinda said, "I have never seen anything like it. For now, find something to hold on to as we do not want to be blown away." The blinding storm was upon us before we could gather our wits. I clutched my friends to me and held tightly to a tree while the roaring wave of destruction pushed over us. Cedric and Zeke shouted, "Help

Art by Duy Truong..................Soldier bees came forward and marched all of us deep within the hives. We entered a hive that was much larger than the others and we could see the queen before us. She was surrounded by attendants that were all determined that no harm come to her. I stood before them while several attendants brought forth their "feelers," ( I do not know what to call them) and they examined me from top to bottom. They made it clear that the others were not to step forward. That was an honor reserved for me. One attendant ushered me before the queen. She was not at all what I had anticipated. She descended a spiral staircase and appeared to be very much a human. She spoke in perfect English, "What is the message you bear?

Otherwise the Magna Carta would never exist and the concept of freedom would disappear forever.... I said, "Good Barons of England, as you discuss your concerns, I will scribe for you." Robin said, "We need a King with a set of rules. Let's begin with these banishment proclamations that he doth hold so dear." "Hear, hear!" everyone agreed. "Let's begin with that." Arrows began flying straight for us from all directions. Zeke and Cedric shot back with their slingshots as we race by. Alfred said, "Those are the tiniest arrows I have ever seen!" I looked at the arrows that were landing all about the road and could see that he was right. "We have seen arrows like this in Kira. The Kakuna tribe had tiny arrows like this!" I looked closely at the Indians and I could see we had found the missing tribe that had been swept away. Cedric pulled an arrow out of his hat. He said, "They are our friends!"

Some were using catapults to launch boulders at the invading bees while others shot giant flaming arrows. They had constructed elaborate weapons and fortifications that indicated this war had been in progress for a very long time. The giant bees dived over and over swooping down upon the villagers. Others dropped rocks upon the houses turning the village into a shambles.

Art by Duy Truong,................... Tammy and her little critters have rounded up the bad guys so Tammy can see that the Pony Express is founded by Alexander Majors. She figures it would be difficult to do if he were killed by bandits robbing the stage.......... As always Duy has come up with an adorable scene...................The passengers jumped out of the stage and gathered 'round. As you may imagine they were astonished and grateful for our deeds. The driver and guard shook our hands and we all became acquainted. We decided to tie the bandits to their horses and turn them over to the law in Lexington. Cedric, Zeke, and Polly flew alongside to make sure nothing went wrong. Alfred and I hopped aboard the stage with the passengers.

Alfred wondered, "What about this one?" and handed it to White Feather. I handed him one I pulled from a charred post. He said, "None of these were made by an Indian. They are the work of whites." He pointed to the pony tracks. "See these tracks. They are made to look like unshod ponies. White men bind the hooves in leather to make it look like unshod Indian ponies." All of the bees followed behind at a furious pace. We flew higher and higher and then into the center of the vortex. There was a great flash of light and suddenly we were flying over Kira. I looked behind and saw the passengers of time and space passing through the vortex. I said a little prayer of thanks that all had gone well.

I read another chapter from Buffalo Bill, The King of the Border Men to Zeke, Cedric, and Polly. As I tucked them in, I asked if they had learned anything from our adventure with the Pony Express and Buffalo Bill.

Art by Duy Truong. A gentle breeze blew from the west. It would not last long as angry clouds were billowing over the mountain peaks. William Tell took careful aim.... He tested the air once again and then focused upon the apple. He released the latch and the arrow sailed across the square and split the apple in half. Walter picked up the two halves and ran into the arms of his father. The villagers embraced one another and cheered as their prayers had been answered.

Chief Wanakuka and his wife, Lanacua came running down the stairway to greet us and offered us hugs and kisses. Many Kakuna elves gathered round. Chief Wanakuka said, "We are happy to see you! What brings you here today?" I explained that we all needed outfits and we were quickly ushered into a fine haberdashery. Zeke and Cedric loved standing in front of the mirror admiring their new look. We purchased Bavarian clothing that would suit our time traveling adventure.
