Estabrook Park • Milwaukee River: Estabrook Park lies on the banks of the Milwaukee River, the beer garden is set on a bluff just above a waterfall. Estabrook Beer Garden represents a return to an era that disappeared from our landscape with the start of Prohibition. It is the first truly public beer garden in America in nearly 100 years. Inspirations came from Milwaukee’s brewing legacy and the operation is modeled after beer gardens found in modern day Munich, Germany. Grant Park • Milwaukee, WI: Grant Park is the stunning result of America's New Deal program. Here is where you'll discover the delights of nature along Lake Michigan – fabulous fall colors, the refreshing sound of a rushing brook and perhaps even a residential ghost. Mitchell Park Domes • Milwaukee WI: Features Mitchell Park Domes. The old Milwaukee conservatory was replaced with a new facility designed by local architect Donald L. Grieb. His design included three domes to open to the public in this order: The “show” dome featuring seasonal plants and special exhibitions in 1965; The tropical dome in 1966; and The arid (or desert) dome in 1967. To this day, many consider the three domed structures to be the gem of Milwaukee’s public parks system. First Lady, Claudia Alta aka “Lady Bird” Johnson dedicated the seasonal dome in September of 1965. Veterans Park Swan Lagoons • Milwaukee, WI. Veterans Park, along Lake Michigan's shore, offers a kite store, large open grassy areas, a section of the paved Oak Leaf Trail, and a 14-acre lagoon with paddle boat rentals. To commemorate each branch of the military services, Veterans Park features a court of honor. Glide across the lagoon at Veterans Park on a swan pedal boat. It is a great way to see the lakefront!
