Cassowary Cards
Description: "Be Casso-Wary!" they say in North Queensland, where there is a possibility that a visitor to the rainforest might run into one of these large, prehistoric-looking birds. They also say that Cassowaries can be very grumpy and they don't like visitors in their forest! But we need to protect them - several species of plants depend on the cassowaries to eat and disperse their seeds. Without the cassowaries, there may be no rainforest. Original digital art by Nadya Neklioudova.
Description: This is a Cassowary. Even though it looks like an awesome dinosaur, it's a bird that looks kind of like the hardcore punk cousin of an emu. The drawing itself is pure vector art isolated on a transparent background. If you like this one, check out the rest of my Bird Balls set - I also have an emu, an ostrich, and a variety of other super cool birds.
Description: A striking southern cassowary stands in bold presence, surrounded by vibrant wildflowers and lush Australian botanicals. A stunning blend of exotic wildlife and botanical beauty, perfect for birders, rare bird enthusiasts, and admirers of unique Australian wildlife designs.

Description: I painted this cassowary first in traditional media, starting with pencil on illustration board, then worked over my drawing with airbrush, traditional brushes, color pencil, pastel, and a variety of other media (there is a post on my blog about how I made this illustration). Later, I reworked my illustration in photoshop before uploading to this site. To see more of my work, check out my website (linked in bio).
