Description: The Salton Sea is the largest lake in California by surface area, and its very existence is a total accident. In 1905, flooding caused the Colorado River to spill over the man-made irrigation canals to pour into what was then known as the Salton Sink – a 40-mile-long dry desert basin. It took two years to stop the flooding, during which the Salton Sink had filled up and formed the Salton Sea. it didn’t take long before people began flocking to this desert oasis as a weekend getaway to picnic and play in the lake. While smaller settlements had popped up over the years, Salton City was established in 1958 and the town’s population quickly grew to 15,000 people, with thousands more arriving on the weekends.
Description: A striking photograph capturing the historic ruins of an abandoned hydroelectric power plant at Cascata das Antas, in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The powerful, twisting roots of a massive strangler fig tree have completely enveloped the old stone structure, creating a dramatic fusion of nature and man-made decay. This unique perspective showcases the 'nature reclaimed' aesthetic. Perfect for history buffs, nature lovers, and those fascinated by abandoned places. A unique piece of Brazilian history.

Description: Fire Point Emergency Stop, Urbex Given the chance I'll take Urbex or urban exploration over most types of photography but these place are becoming less and less mainly due to health and safety. This was taken 11 years ago in a disused malt kiln (Paul's Malt) in my home town. This huge building is long gone but a venture inside was very interesting. The apocalyptic remains may not be to everyone's taste but they appeal to me for some strange reason. Available on over 90 products here at Redbubble Drop me a message if you would prefer a different background or a slight change in some way to enhance the product :-) I have set a black background on most items that needed a colour adding, I can soon change this for you By Paul ...
