Description: “The god of night, evil, and death in Slavic lore. His name means “black god.” Like many other gods of the dead, he is said to live below the earth. His counterpart is Belobog, the “white god.” Despite being feared, he was also worshipped. The curse, “May the black god kill you,” is still used in Ukraine."

Description: From my Dark Mythos: Creatures of World Mythology art book (at charamath.com), comes Chernobog. This ancient Slavic god is actually the root of much debate, but in general he's the god of Darkness and his opposite was thought to be Belobog, the god of Light, but now both are thought to be simply two sides of the same god of the sun.
