From Chinese 陈 (chén) meaning "exhibit, display, old, ancient" and also referring to the former state of Chen, which existed in what is now Henan province from the 11th to 5th centuries BC.

Yin and Yang is a concept from ancient Chinese philosophy and is often represented by the Yin-Yang symbol, which depicts two opposing but complementary forces in the universe. The idea is that everything in the world is composed of two opposite yet interconnected and interdependent aspects, which cannot exist without each other.

The Shaolin Temple, which is in the Henan province, China, was founded in the 5th century CE. It is the birthplace of Zen martial arts practices.
