The Jazz Band is composed of a dedicated group of students who share a passion for this American-based music idiom. In addition to the most common traditional jazz styles, such as swing, the band performs selections in the styles of rock, latin, and funk. This traditional ensemble of saxophones, brass, and rhythm section exposes students to jazz pedagogical techniques such as improvisation, and a smaller chamber-style of playing.
