This image is of one of the tree portals on the southern face of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. This specific portal is called the Portal of the Last Judgement, and it is the central portal to the church. The central doorway was the last of the three portals to be decorated. It consists of Christ in Majesty (showing the marks of the Crucifixion) with the Virgin Mary and St. John on either side of him. Below the main scene is St. Michael weighing the souls of the resurrected dead. The redeemed are being separated on the left, while demons are leading away the damned to the right.
