Caxa Real is a building that is situated in the San Francisco neighborhood one block east of the Municipal City Hall in the City of Comayagua, Honduras (featured in one of my other images of Comayagua). Caxa Real is a brick-and-coral-colored building that is dedicated to social, cultural, educational and business events. It was built between 1739 and 1741 to store all tributes to the Spanish crown, including gold and silver. In addition, bars of gold, plaster and silver were cast on this property (then called Casa de la Moneda) and further moved to Guatemala, which was the then Central American capital to Spain.
