Robey Steam Engine Number of views as of 4th March 2018 = 700. Another exhibit being put through its paces at the Great Dorset Steam Fair at Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford, Dorset, England. The Robey company was founded in Lincoln in 1854 and began by manufacturing threshing machines. Later, the company diversified into steam engines, steam rollers, steam wagons, boat engines and even aircraft during the First World War. At the International Exhibition in Paris in 1878, their steam engine was the only one to run for the entire exhibition without breaking down, earning them a prestigious 'Gold Medal' award. The engine shown is in the livery of Jesse Parker, of Ringwood, Hampshire. Date: 4th September 2010.
