Narrow Boat, Gloucester Docks Number of views as of 23rd December 2017 = 900. The narrow boat 'Amber' at Gloucester Docks has been converted into a floating cafe 'The Cafe on the Cut'. The port of Gloucester had its heyday in the late 1800s, but by the 1970s the wharfs, warehouses and docks themselves had fallen into disrepair. A restoration programme to regenerate the area was begun in the 1980s, and the barge is moored alongside one of the newer, residential buildings which complement the older red-brick warehouse buildings seen to the left of shot.
