The Celtic goddess Brighid. On the first of February, the Irish celebrate this goddess (or her Christianized version, Saint Brigid) on Brigid's Day. The pagans celebrate them, Imbolc. I have always loved this figure and its symbols. Perhaps it is partly because of the symbolism of the candles and the light that brings her closer to Lucia and Hekate: light in the darkness, inner light etc. ?️ For Brighid is the Celtic goddess of the Forge, poetry, medicine, crafts, sacred wells and cattle. She is the patroness of our Inner Fire (vitality, creativity); of our Air (expression, inspiration); of Water (body fluids) and Earth (medicinal plants, construction, pugnacity).
